From November 6th to November 10th, Ivan Sekaj, Professor at the Faculty of Electrical
Engineering and Information Technology of STU in Bratislava visited the Chair of
Automation Control and System Theory at RUB. The visit was carried out within the Horizon
Europe Project FrontSeat.

Ivan Sekaj’s research focuses on evolutionary computing methods in the field of control
engineering and genetic algorithms for the control of robots. This brought him to RUB to
look at the flight laboratory at the research building ZESS. In this context,
technical details were clarified for setting up a similar laboratory at STU in Bratislava.
The discussion continued by searching for possible collaborations combining the expertise of
the control engineering group at RUB with the expertise of FEI-STU. The visit ended with a
presentation by Ivan Sekaj about genetic algorithms and machine learning.

Thanks to Ivan Sekaj for having interesting discussions and sharing his expertise about
controller design for robots.

This project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon under grant no. 101079342 (Fostering Opportunities Towards Slovak Excellence in Advanced Control for Smart Industries).
