Read a blog written by Martin Klaučo, an associate professor at the Faculty of Chemical and Food Technology of STU in Bratislava, about his research visit to Ruhr University Bochum, Germany.

In November 2023, I visited our long-term colleagues and friends at RUB – Control Engineering and Systems Theory. My last visit to RUB was in February 2019, and this time, it was a very nice refreshment of not-so-old memories. During this visit, I delivered a talk on our ongoing joint scientific work with my Ph.D. student Karol Kiš (STU) and with Raphael Dyrska (RUB) titled “Machine Learning Methods for Active Set Prediction: Accelerating NMPC Computation.” With prof. Martin Mönnigmann, we discussed future activities not only in terms of joined publications but also in the possibility of organizing invited sessions at conferences or applications in the next project calls.

This project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon under grant no. 101079342 (Fostering Opportunities Towards Slovak Excellence in Advanced Control for Smart Industries).
