On Wednesday, June 25, 2025, the Faculty of Chemical and Food Technology (FCHPT) hosted the annual Chemical Fair—CHEMSHOW 2025, and our Institute of Information Engineering, Automation, and Mathematics (UIAM) was thrilled to be part of this vibrant event!

How Does Artificial Intelligence Think?
This year’s program featured a popular science lecture for high school students by Assoc. Prof. Juraj Oravec, PhD., who tackled the intriguing question “How does artificial intelligence think?”. His talk provided students with a glimpse into how AI works and its impact on the future of industry and everyday life.

Engaging Younger Minds
At the same time, we prepared a special hands-on program for elementary school pupils, where they discovered the basics of automation and optimization through fun and interactive activities.

Hands-On Demos and Study Insights
Our booth was a lively stop for all visitors. High school students learned more about studying at our institute, explored exciting student projects, and even tried their hand at process control—realizing just how challenging it is to keep systems running smoothly without the help of smart controllers!

We are grateful to everyone who joined us for ChemShow 2025 and for the enthusiastic questions and bright curiosity of all our visitors. Events like these remind us why we love sharing our passion for science, technology, and innovation—and why we can’t wait to welcome the next generation of scientists and engineers!

This project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon program under grant no. 101079342 (Fostering Opportunities Towards Slovak Excellence in Advanced Control for Smart Industries).
