On May 7, 2025, Prof. Miroslav Fikar delivered a guest lecture at the University of Pisa (UNIPI) as part of his research stay. The lecture was given to 4th-year students within the course Process Dynamics and Control and focused on the topic of Design of Industrial Controllers.

The students were introduced to:

  • the concept of a closed-loop control system,
  • performance and quality criteria,
  • methods for controller design.

Prof. Fikar expressed his appreciation for the high level of the students and the thematic compatibility with the course Theory of Automatic Control 1 (TAR1) at the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava, which covers similar concepts.

This exchange highlighted the value of international collaboration in education and underlined the synergies between STU and UNIPI in teaching and research.

This project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon under grant no. 101079342 (Fostering Opportunities Towards Slovak Excellence in Advanced Control for Smart Industries).
